Role Description
This is an on-site, part-time position based in St. Louis, MO, for a Recreation Assistant - Summer Camps. The Recreation Assistant will assist in planning and facilitating recreational activities for camp participants. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe and engaging environment, supporting the implementation of daily schedules, facilitating games and activities, and fostering positive interactions among participants. The role may involve supervising activities such as sports, crafts, and outdoor events while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Recreation and experience in running activities effectively
- Basic Lifeguarding certification and ability to oversee water-based activities
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with campers, parents, and team members
- Experience in sports such as Golf can be a valuable addition
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Patience and enthusiasm for working with children and youth
- Prior experience in educational or recreational roles is a plus
- Must be punctual, reliable, and able to adapt to changing situations
