What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Natural Resources Maintenance- Weed Inspector position at City of St. Louis Park?
Assist with the vegetation code enforcement on private property, weed control and landscaping on city property, and other duties to achieve area maintenance goals of the natural resources division.
This is a seasonal, full-time position working an average of 30 hours per week from June - September.

- Implement entire private property vegetation maintenance program to comply with specifications of city, county, and state vegetation ordinances and statutes.
- Inspecting private property for noxious weeds, tall grass, and public right of way obstructions.
- Sending out notices for vegetation ordinance violations.
- Follow-up phone calls, property visits, and inspections of notices sent and correcting those.
- Working with contractors or city staff to abate vegetation nuisances.
- Initiate and evaluate land surveys and determine other land ownership using City and other resources.
- Perform extensive customer service.
- Assist with plant maintenance and weed control on public property as needed.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a city vehicle.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability and desire to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Physical ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
- Ability to identify common woody and herbaceous plants in the Twin Cities metro area.
- Knowledge of Minnesota noxious weed list.
- Experience with enforcement of city codes.
