Work involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating public works projects to assure compliance with City specifications and ordinances, working under the general direction of the City Engineer.
Represents the City in meetings with City Commission, project stakeholders and organizations when technical aspects of an issue or project need to be effectively and clearly communicated.
Supervise, train, and organize the work of assigned staff as necessary.
Applications will be reviewed as received, position will be open until filled.Prepares scope of services for consultant contracts defining parameters for public works improvement projects using standard engineering practice.
Coordinates and reviews the development of plans and specifications by contracted consulting firms assuring compliance with City’s expectations for scheduling, budget and quality of work from conception to completion.
Involvement with the budgeting, estimating and implementation of federal projects and grants.
Understanding and Implementing Ohio DOT Project Development Process.
Project management involving land acquisition for federally funded projects and public utility infrastructure expansion.
Administer and oversee right of way permit applications and approvals for public utility, small cell tower and telecommunication installations within the public right of way.Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education and experience in the practice of Civil Engineering or similar work environment that would demonstrate effectiveness in leading engineering projects.
Possession of a valid Ohio driver license.
Knowledge of AutoCAD software is desirable.

- Knowledge of Ohio Revised Code, Federal Uniform Act ad Ohio DOT Real Estate Policy and Procedure guidelines.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and of the design and construction of civil engineering projects.
- Considerable understanding of roadway design, water distribution systems, sanitary collection and storm water collection systems.
- Substantial knowledge of federal, state and local standards related to civil engineering.
- Ability to effectively plan, design, and administer engineering projects, including the development of estimates, schedules and deliverables for approval.
- Ability to review reports, presentations and other necessary engineering documentation for a non-technical audience to ensure project issues have been effectively documented and described to stakeholders.
- Understand, interprets and apply regulations in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, and other City departments along with the general public.
- Knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing applications.
