The Springfield-Greene County Parks Department is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at the Brightspeed Ice Park.
Opened in 2001, our award-winning facility is Southwest Missouri's premier ice sports and entertainment venue, featuring two 17,000-square-foot ice rinks and serving as the region's only year-round ice arena. Brightspeed Ice Park is home to the ACHA Division I and Division III Missouri State Ice Bears, ACHA Division I and Division III Drury University Panthers, the Springfield Youth Hockey Association, Jordan Valley Figure Skating Club, Springfield Roller Derby, and a wide variety of Ice Park programs including Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey, youth and adult hockey leagues, and Public Skate. The facility also hosts concerts, trade shows, tournaments, and other community events throughout the year.
This position requires working knowledge of ice plant operations, ice resurfacing equipment, and the methods, equipment, and best practices used in ice rink maintenance, facility operations, and cleaning. Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or other building maintenance trades is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, servicing and cleaning of facilities, infrastructure, and/or buildings that includes mechanical and/or electrical systems (electrical = 240 to 480 volts), HVAC, and/or plumbing of which one year has been in ice rink maintenance work.
