What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp Seasonal - Outdoor Program Shuttle Staff position at City of Spokane?
This individual will be responsible for being one of two staff who operate the Little Spokane River Shuttle Service and Kayak rentals. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds to load and unload personal watercraft (canoe, kayak, or standup paddleboard) onto a trailer. Staff will transport people and watercraft from the Nine Mile take-out to the Saint George's put-in. The Kayak Rental Program involves transporting, unloading, staging, and securing rental kayak equipment. Shuttling and educating kayak rental participants.
Commitment to all or most of the scheduled dates. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, and flexible enough to make accommodations for unforeseen events. Have excellent communication, leadership, decision-making skills, and a confident ability to speak with the public and provide good customer service. A background in outdoor recreation facilitation, teaching or related field.
The stamina to stand for long periods time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the day loading boats on a trailer.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Valid CPR & 1st Aid Certifications. Preferred but can be obtained after being hired.
- Pass background check.
- Pass drug test. Includes testing for cannabis.
