What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician V - Snow Removal (Seasonal) position at City of South Lake Tahoe?
The City of South Lake Tahoe is hiring for 2025-26 Seasonal Snowplow Operators – MT V, Step 5 level. This is an exceptional opportunity to earn a high hourly salary, plus overtime.
There are multiple openings for snowplow operators with a Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class A or B. Employment will begin October 27, 2025, to March 31, 2026 (tentative).
CDL operators will earn $39.77 per hour, plus overtime pay for work over 40 hours per week ($59.65 per hour) and twice the hourly rate ($79.55) for work during holidays. In addition, for any On-Call Duty (to be ready to report to work), the employee can earn $13.22 per hour.
A Commercial Diver's License (CDL) is required for this position.Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends. Incumbents may also be called in for local emergencies at irregular hours.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
