Lead Program Assistant - Programming Support (Part-Time)

The Parks and Recreation Department will be accepting applications for a part-time Lead Program Assistant – Programming Support. This position provides support in planning and implementing sports and A.I.R. (adaptive recreation) programs and events, while also performing administrative duties for the Parks and Recreation Department. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.

Primary tasks and responsibilities for this position include coordinating with the respective Program Coordinators to plan and facilitate a wide range of community-based recreation and education programs, helping with the administration and clerical needs of the program services offered, aiding with the registration, data management and recordkeeping of program participants, and assisting with the planning, instruction and/or facilitation of recreation programs offered by the department.

Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in adaptive programming, recreation or community services field. College courses in special education, public relations, marketing, recreation management, or related field preferred. Applicants must also have knowledge of or training in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) used within the department. This position offers a starting rate of $21.2916/hour.
