What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ascend Intern - Sports Turf Managment position at City of Sioux Falls?
Position will be posted until filled. Hiring managers will actively review applications, scheduling interviews, and hiring candidates as they see fit.
- Learn all aspects of turf management at Sherman Park or Harmodon Park.
- Lead all aspects of maintaining grounds at an athletic complex.
- Responsible for weekly water management, mowing schedule and mowing, fertilizer applications, overseeding applications, and aeration.
- Diagnose irrigation issues and perform repairs.
- Attend and participate in project management, event coordination, and stake holder relationship functions.
- This is a 2026 summer internship.
- Students enrolled in a Turf Management, Sports Management, or Parks and Recreation related curriculum, as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.
- Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work a 40-hour flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
