General:
- Does skilled work in circulation, reference, and library programming.
- Assists with daily operations and administration as needed
- Receives general instructions from adult services librarian regarding overall duties.
In addition, this position may be asked to:
- Develop and monitor library programs for teens & adults
- Perform outreach
- Create fliers, announcements, and other written marketing.
- Assist the department with Social Media.

Ability to:
- Create programs of interest to teens and adults.
- Make suggestions to librarians for department improvement.
- Assist patrons with new technologies, including mobile phones, tablets and other tasks.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with staff as well as supervisors.
- Think independently and make decisions easily under pressure.
- Physical ability sufficient to operate equipment including computers and telephones; to shelve books on carts daily; and to lift normal library materials.
- Visual ability sufficient to read and write reports and to use normal office equipment.
- Hearing ability sufficient to understand and hold conversations with others in person and by telephone.
- Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with others in person and by telephone.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid AZ driver's license.
Must be able to work AM and/or PM shifts and Saturday shifts.
May be assigned by the Director of Parks, Recreation and Library to other departments as needed (special events, etc).
