What are the responsibilities and job description for the REPAIRER TRAFFIC SIGNAL I position at City of Shreveport?
The Repairer, Traffic Signal I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, components and parts such as electro-mechanical controllers, detection devices, electronic controllers.1. Works in shop assembling, adjusting and testing new traffic signals and salvaging components and parts for already used traffic signals.
2. Works outside performing preventive and corrective maintenance and assisting in the installation of new and replacement traffic signals and components parts.
3. Loads and unloads vehicles.
4. Conducts weekly safety inspections.
5. May drive bucket truck or pickup truck to work sites.
6. Once on site, ascends and descends poles or rides in bucket.
7. Strings and secures traffic signal wires and cable.
8. Digs pole holes with manual or power diggers.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.1) High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
2) One year electrical or electronics experience or associated training preferred.
3) Must possess a valid drivers license.
