What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader, Buildings position at City of Shreveport?
Assigns work to and oversees work performed by Crew Members to ensure it is correctly performed according to the needs of the City.1. Performs same tasks as Crew Member.
Travel will be required locally from location to location to accomplish assignments and visit job sites.

Physical Requirements: Position requires moderate to extensive stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions, along with some combination of climbing and balancing. Position requires abilities to consistently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment: Work is performed outdoors and/or indoors with exposure to noise, dirt, grease, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, fumes, animals, insects, chemicals, treated/untreated sewer, treated/untreated water, inclement weather, machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices.
- May include any combination of sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing floors; washing windows, mirrors, doors, walls, ceilings, baseboards, lavatories, drinking fountains, furniture, dishes silverware, etc.; dusting; shining and polishing woodwork and brass work; cleaning vents and ducts; cleaning and changing air filters, cleaning commode sand urinals; replenishing restroom supplies; emptying and cleaning refuse receptacles and ash trays.
- May include moving, lifting, carrying objects such as office equipment and other furniture supplies, materials and tools; and like work activities.
- Trains and orients new workers; initiates orders for supplies and materials; and may be required to submit work reports.
- May recommend personnel actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years training and experience performing Crew Member, Buildings work.
- Must have valid state driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions and perform assigned tasks.
- Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and materials; involve the ability to exert light to exert light to moderately heavy physical effort, but which may involve some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate to moderately heavy weight (12-50 pounds).
- Some tasks require odor, texture and visual perception and discrimination. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.
