Duties
- May act as assistant to the Division Manager in supervising a program or operation involving the entire division.
- Supervises district operations.
- Plans and implements work, training and safety programs.
- Directs activities of employees variously engaged in performing constructing and repairing fences, and other structures; welding metal components; mowing grass; raking; planting and tending flower beds; picking up and hauling refuse, trash and other litter; installing and repairing playground equipment; and performing housekeeping tasks.
- Submits budget estimates and requests for equipment and materials.
- Recommends new hires, pay raises, promotions, and other personnel actions.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid state vehicle operator's license.
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Horticulture or related field or seven (7) years of
supervisory position.
- Hold or be able to qualify for such certificates and/or licenses as may be required
Work Environment
- May work at remote locations in noisy work area.
- Will be required to wear safety protective gear when necessary.
- Must have valid state driver's license.
- May be exposed to dust, weather and other environmental factors.
- May work in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer terminal for varied periods of time or while standing for varied periods of time.
- Constant use of both hands in reaching, handling, grasping, fingering while performing duties and operating computers.
- Occasional heavy work includes lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 pounds. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and other inclines while maintaining balance. Occasional bending twisting at knees, waist and neck.
- Constant use of all senses including feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing while performing duties and communicating with co-workers, general public, and completing all tasks as assigned.
