This classification is a safety-sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under general supervision, is responsible for performing manual labor and semi-skilled tasks in assigned areas. Work varies little following prescribed standards and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Physical demands include: bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, reaching, walking on rough or uneven terrain, kneeling, and pulling or lifting up to 50#s (greater with assistance), communicating over air traffic radio equipment.
Work is performed in uncontrollable working conditions of inclement weather, during all seasons, of heat, cold, dampness, offensive odors, dust, dirt, and hazardous chemicals;
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Conducts daily airfield and ramp area inspections and records information on surface conditions and equipment operability.
Prepares and disseminates NOTAMS as directed by the Airport Manager or as indicated by circumstances.
Clears foreign objects, debris, or other materials that could impact the safety of the
airport operations area, taxi lanes, parking ramps, and hangar access routes.
Conducts daily fuel system testing per prescribed procedures; prepares records on fuel quality.
Assists airport users with fueling of aircraft on request.
Collects payment and records purchases of fuel, oil and other merchandise.
Assists airport users with marshalling and securing aircraft on the ramp. Retrieving aircraft from hangars and storing aircraft in hangars as requested.
Maintains a daily record of non-tenant aircraft utilizing either the aircraft parking ramp or hangars.
Handles requests for hangar/ramp reservations, fueling, and other services, and records information per procedure.
Performs preventative maintenance on airport facilities and equipment as directed.
Performs preventative maintenance on airport vehicles and equipment, schedules service and/or repairs with appropriate partners per procedures.
Performs daily custodial duties within and around the terminal.
Performs general groundskeeping duties to include but not limited to: routine mowing,
weeding, trimming shrubbery, and removal debris to keep grounds neat and orderly.
Greets customers and assists with arranging for ground-based services to include but not limited to: transportation, hotel accommodations, and local area information.
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Work is regularly performed in uncontrollable working conditions of inclement weather, during all seasons, of heat, cold, dampness, offensive odors, dust, dirt, and hazardous chemicals;
Contact with others is frequent in which ability to perform duties is directly affected through communication and rapport established, requiring confidentiality, common courtesy, and relaying of information.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Graduation from High School or its equivalent; PLUS
One-year work experience, preferably in airport operations and or maintenance;
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and maintain a status of insurability.

Performs manual and semi-skilled work in support of the operation and maintenance of the Airport facilities and equipment;
Assists the Airport Manager as may be directed;
Demonstrates general knowledge in the repair and maintenance of equipment and tools;
