Job Description
Summary of positionThe Housing Implementation Specialist performs professional level work to advance the City’s housing goals through project implementation, partnership development, and innovative housing programs. The position serves as the Community Development Department’s primary coordinator for implementing the City’s Balanced Housing Strategy and other housing related objectives by facilitating housing development and redevelopment opportunities, leveraging City-owned property, fostering public-private partnerships, administering and enhancing housing programs, and identifying creative solutions to preserve, retain and expand the housing available to meet the community’s needs.
Minimum qualifications
Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years of progressively responsible experience in housing, planning, community development, or a related field.
Training:
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning, public administration, community development, real estate, economics, construction management, political science or a closely related field.
