About this position:

We are seeking qualified intermittent Dining Room Attendants to clean the dining room in the Seattle Center Armory. Intermittent shifts are available during peak tourist, visitor and event periods without any guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts can be day or evening and need is greater on weekends and holidays. Successful candidates will be available for shifts during Bumbershoot Festival (Labor Day Weekend), Folklife Festival (Memorial Day Weekend), Bite of Seattle, Pride Festival and holidays including New Year’s Eve. This position reports to the Armory Manager.

  • Monitor dining area, clean tables using a pushcart containing cleaning supplies and trash containers
  • Empty garbage, compost and recycling bags and clean large garbage receptacles weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Sweep, dust mop and mop floors
  • Adjust tables and chairs to keep dining area safe and organized. 
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness around trash compactor and receptacle can washer
  • Provide uplifting customer service while answering general questions from patrons

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Experience working in commercial dining rooms, food service, commercial janitorial industry or other applicable work history.
  • Ability to interact in a helpful and courteous manner with a diverse workforce and patrons.
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Shifts are generally between the hours of 10:00 am and 9:30 pm depending on events
  • Able and willing to work shifts during weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry items safely up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend and stoop for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

This is an intermittent/on-call position with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.  Hours are based on events and peak visitor periods at Seattle Center.

The full salary range for this position is $29.62 - $31.49 per hour. Temporary employees begin at step 1, which is $29.62 hourly. Intermittent employees do not get salary step increases. You'll also get premium pay that increases the more hours you work. (Starts at an additional 5% on top of your base rate, up to 25%!)
