What are the responsibilities and job description for the Affordable Seattle Data and Evaluation Intern position at City of Seattle?
Position Description
The City of Seattle Affordable Seattle Program seeks a Data and Evaluation Intern for a 12-month assignment to assist with improving the delivery of City benefit and discount programs to ensure residents receive timely assistance. This internship will be key to understanding the current landscape of Seattle households who qualify for benefits and discounts and who are or are not currently enrolled in such programs. This position will report to the Citywide Integrated Benefits and Services Improvement Lead.
The internship is a joint effort with Seattle Department of Transportation and King County, in efforts to offset the increase in property taxes residents experience as a result of voter-approved levies. The King County Property Tax exemption program provides relief for low-income homeowners who are seniors or disabled. The recommendations from this internship will guide outreach and engagement efforts to ensure communities who qualify for the property tax exemption are receiving it, in efforts to ensure levy funding is not disproportionately impacting vulnerable communities.
