What are the responsibilities and job description for the City Collector position at City of Scott City?
Summary: Senior level administrative position that is primarily responsible for the collection of all city revenues. Also performs duties relating to the daily operation of the city under the direct supervision of the City Administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Organize and maintain accurate records of the city’s revenues. Report to the City Administrator in a timely manner regarding this information.
· Hold regular office hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday for the collection of utility bills and other city business.
· Responsible for daily tracking and balancing of all City revenues.
· Prepare and issue all City business licenses and liquor licenses. Organize and maintain records of all licenses issued.
· Responsible for collecting rezoning applications, minor subdivision applications, and special permit applications. Schedule meetings with Planning & Zoning Board.
· Balance cash drawers and make daily deposits.
· Responsible for disbursement of City revenues to the proper funds. Provide the City Administrator an accurate and exact statement of the condition of any fund.
· Help handle all public complaints or concerns that come to City Hall.
· Help answer the City Hall telephones, address concerns as they arise, or point the way to the correct answer.
· Attend evening Council Meetings to take minutes as needed.
· Perform any and all other duties and/or functions as assigned by the City Administrator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Must have strong accounting and mathematical skills.
· Must have the ability to work on multiple tasks.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
And one to three years related experience and/or training;
Or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Knowledge of office practices and equipment, basic accounting principles, and demonstrated knowledge of clerical activities desired.
· Previous experience working with the public or other customer service experience is also desired.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Ability to get work done in a timely manner.
· Ability to work well with other employees and with the public.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
