The Savannah Police Department (SPD) is searching for a professional senior criminal intelligence leader who will coordinate and grow the Savannah Area Regional Intelligence Center (SARIC) analytic unit responsible for operational and strategic analytic support to all levels of the Department. The successful candidate will also manage the intelligence cycle within the SPD, determining the flow of intelligence data throughout the precincts, the special investigative units, and the Command Staff. The position requires an energetic and innovative professional with a solid background in intelligence analysis who possesses management experience, excellent research and analytic skills, a thorough understanding of associated IT tools, and the ability to take full advantage of those tools to manipulate data for efficient analysis.

The successful candidate will:
Coordinate with a supervised team of professional analysts to initiate and develop streamlined procedures to assess crime trends; assist officers in their investigations; and prepare tailored intelligence reports and assessments.- Act as the central point of intelligence information flow among analysts, precinct personnel, and specialized investigative units within the SPD.
- Work with external and internal customers to create an atmosphere of cooperation through information sharing.
- Work to build and maintain a streamlined IT system for creating data bases, analyzing data, and disseminating repo1is.
- Facilitate training for all intelligence analysts and other SPD personnel on analysis, reporting, and data storage techniques.
- Promote security awareness. Have a comprehensive understanding of security policies, and rigorously enforce all regulations.
- Brief senior management and participate in senior level decisions as appropriate.
- Attend/participate in inter/intra agency criminal analyst meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of and ability to adhere to Departmental policies and applicable federal and state laws.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two year's full-time experience as the supervisor of an intelligence unit within a law enforcement, military, or Federal agency. In addition, five years' experience in intelligence analysis, crime analysis, management systems analysis, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience are required.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, with a major in Intelligence Studies and Analysis, Criminal Justice, or Law Enforcement.
PREFERENCE:
Preference given to candidates with a certification in one of the following:
International Association of Crime Analysts' Certified Law Enforcement Analyst Program; The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Georgia Law Enforcement Criminal Intelligence Analysis; or any Nationwide or Federal Agency equivalent certification.
