General Purpose
We are seeking a versatile and dependable Airport Maintenance and Operations Worker to join our team at Sanderson Field. This position plays a key role in both airfield operations and grounds maintenance. Duties include operating heavy equipment, providing line services for aircraft, delivering customer service to pilots and passengers, and performing general airport support tasks. This is a hands-on, outdoor-oriented role that requires strong multitasking abilities and a commitment to safety.

Reports to: Airport Manager
Supervises: None
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as lawn mowers and tractors to maintain airport grounds and facilities.
- Provide aircraft line services, including fueling, towing, marshaling, and parking aircraft.
- Assist pilots and passengers with customer service and general airport support.
- Maintain accurate records, invoices, and documentation related to fuel sales and airport operations.
- Ensure airport facilities, terminal areas, and grounds remain clean and presentable.
- Follow all applicable FAA, TSA, and airport safety regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as tractors and mowers preferred.
- Knowledge of aircraft fueling and ramp operations preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, and outdoor physical labor.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Comfortable working around loud equipment and active aircraft operations.
Work Schedule
This is a seasonal part-time weekend position primarily scheduled for:
- Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sundays: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Additional hours may occasionally be available depending on airport operational needs.
