The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Maintenance IV -- Parks, who will specialize in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and performance of all irrigation systems within the City's parks and open spaces. This is a full-time position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week.
Under the direction of the Parks Superintendent, this position is responsible for managing and maintaining the City's WeatherTRAK Central Irrigation Control System, ensuring efficient water management across all City landscapes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in irrigation systems, with the ability to diagnose issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and oversee installation of new systems. The ability to lead and train other staff members in irrigation repairs, and other technical maintenance items.
This position plays a key role in optimizing water usage, maintaining healthy landscapes, and supporting the City's sustainability goals. The Maintenance IV -- Parks Irrigation Technician also serves as one of the City's principal "on-call" employees for after-hours emergencies related to irrigation and snow removal operations.
Additionally, this position acts as a first-line supervisor for assigned Seasonal Maintenance -- Parks employees, providing guidance, training, and coordination related to irrigation system operations and landscape maintenance.
