IT Systems Administrator

As the IT Systems Administrator, some of your key responsibilities will be as follows:
- Administer and support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows 11 workstations
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server, VMware ESX, and Veeam backups
- Maintain a citywide WAN connecting multiple municipal facilities
- Configure and secure network infrastructure, including switches, Wi-Fi, and Fortinet firewalls
- Support municipal software systems (MUNIS, Vision Appraisal, ESRI, ArcGIS, public safety applications
- Manage the City's phone system and telecommunications providers
- Provide user support, training, documentation, and system improvements
- Work with vendors, manage licenses, inventory, and assist with budgeting
- Attend meetings and work flexible hours as needed
A high school diploma or GED is a fundamental requirement, providing you with the essential groundwork for success. Your hands-on relevant experience of at least 5 years is recommended (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Strong experience with recent Windows Server environments and network administration, knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, firewalls, and security best practices is highly desirable. Experience with virtualization, backup systems, and SQL databases preferred. Municipal IT experience is a plus.
