The Program Integrity Supervisor oversees the delivery of high-risk nutrition services and ensures compliance with all WIC program requirements across agency clinics. This position provides expert-level nutrition counseling, supervises staff training and development, and serves as the agency’s Nutrition and Breastfeeding Coordinator. The role is responsible for implementing quality assurance measures, managing special nutrition programs, and supporting outreach efforts to improve community health outcomes. The Program Integrity Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining program integrity, enhancing service delivery, and promoting evidence-based nutrition practices.

The following list outlines the core responsibilities of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.


Nutrition Services and Program Oversight

  • Provide high-risk nutrition assessments and counseling to WIC participants.
  • Approve non-contract formulas in consultation with healthcare providers and the state office.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education and breastfeeding support plans.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Serve as the Nutrition and Breastfeeding Coordinator and lead the development of annual plans.

Staff Supervision and Training

  • Oversee the WIC Certification Specialist (WCS) Program, including hiring, training, and continuing education.
  • Coordinate initial and ongoing training for all WIC staff to ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to staff across all agency clinics.

Program Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to Quality Management requirements, including audits, corrective action plans, and documentation.
  • Evaluate program services and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of assigned program functions.

Participant Services and Documentation

  • Conduct participant certifications, including blood draws, anthropometric measurements, and health history reviews.
  • Determine nutritional risk codes and assign appropriate food packages.
  • Provide individualized nutrition counseling and referrals to other health and social services.

Facility Maintenance and Safety

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary clinic environment.
  • Restock supplies and report facility issues as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.

Community Engagement and Outreach

  • Represent the agency at community and state-level events.
  • Deliver public presentations and outreach to promote WIC services, especially to at-risk populations.
  • Teach nutrition education classes and respond to public and staff inquiries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. 
  • Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
  • Three (3) years of experience in nutrition and/or public health. 
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
  • Experience in public health nutrition program management.
  • Familiarity with WIC program policies and state/federal nutrition guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of nutrition science, breastfeeding support, and public health principles.
  • Ability to assess client needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead staff training and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in interpreting regulations and preparing program documentation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the ability to lift up to 45 pounds rarely. Frequent activities include talking, sitting, hearing, and vision use. Occasional activities include standing, walking, reaching, handling, and operating foot controls. Rare activities include lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a clinical setting with exposure to infectious diseases and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals, and irate individuals. Immunizations are recommended and may be provided by the City. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Salary : $59,203 - $74,004
