REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Support effective city operations through data collection and basic analysis, contributing to the development of reports and recommendations
  • Identify areas for increased administrative efficiency; present and execute solutions
  • Support accountability by preparing meeting agendas, documenting decisions and actions, and following up with managers to ensure timely completion
  • Cultivate strong relationships across departments, acting as a key resource for data-driven decision-making and administrative efficiency
  • Provide strategic administrative support that helps maximize the contributions of city managers and subject matter experts
  • Develop and track budgets, spending, financial projections and trends, identifying potential areas of savings
  • Manage best value procurements and contracts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project management principles and concepts
  • Methods and techniques of data collection, research and report preparation
  • Methods and techniques of financial analysis
  • Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting
  • Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration
  • Independent judgment and personal initiative
  • Organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines
  • Perform work in an efficient and timely manner without constant supervision
  • Adapt to and embrace change and continuous learning as an opportunity for growth

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education/Training
An associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, economics or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent experience, certification, licensure and/or education will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience
Three years of increasingly responsible support role or administrative experience.
