BUNKER GEAR TECHNICIAN (FD Non Civil Service) (PART TIME)

We are currently seeking: A part-time Bunker Gear Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain SAFD firefighting gear to NFPA 1851 standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct annual inspection of all SAFD Structural Firefighting Gear.
• Clean and decontaminate Structural Firefighting Gear as needed.
• Track and maintain history of all SAFD Personal Protective Clothing.
• Hours: Less than 30 hours per week.
• Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements And Skills

• Ability to prioritize work schedule.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Some mechanical aptitude is required.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  
  

Required Licenses Or Certifications

• Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
• Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
• Must possess or obtain, within three months of employment, NFPA 1851 PPE Advanced Care and Cleaning Certification.
  
  

Physical Demands / Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• Must be able to bend and stoop.
