What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD/RELIEF SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD position at City of San Angelo Texas?

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The School Crossing Guard or Relief for School Crossing Guard will:
- Control and direct children safely through crosswalks
- Observe traffic
- Maintain time sheets, maintain attendance sheets, complete tracking records
- Be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.
- Must be available for short notice calls to work.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 8:15 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
- This is an on-call position that requires the employee to provide a reliable automobile to transport crossing guard equipment to job site and cell phone to be reached for short notice calls to duty or calls for assistance in an emergency.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Reliable transportation is required.
Required Knowledge of:
- English language.
- Spanish helpful.
Required Skill in:
- Ability to read and understand the English language.
- Effectively communicate with children and adults.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform basic math.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Able to lift 10 to 15 lbs. overhead.
- Walk unassisted over uneven terrain.
