The City of Salisbury is seeking self-motivated candidates who will perform technical work repairing and maintaining traffic signals and traffic control devices. Main duties include but are not limited to: installing, repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting for controllers, switches, relays, flashers, loops, cameras, cables and related traffic control equipment; setting up and testing controllers and cabinets; performing street light maintenance and underground locates; maintaining inventory and stocking bucket truck; and receiving work orders on traffic signal failures and related problems. Applicants with prior experience in fiber optics will be given preferential consideration.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED with coursework in electronics technology and moderate experience in the electrical/electronic field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid NC Driver’s License
- Involves heavy manual labor, at times under extreme weather conditions
- Required to work outside of normal hours in emergency or on-call situations
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician level I preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
- Fiber optic troubleshooting and repair is preferred

Salary range: $21.52 – $30.78 per hour (Depending on Experience)
$2,000.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of a successful probationary period
