The City of Salisbury Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an energetic and motivated Recreation Programmer to plan, implement, and supervise engaging community recreation programs for residents of all ages. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, and supervise a diverse mix of recreation and/or athletic programs and services
- Supervise designated recreation facilities
- Assist with the planning and delivery of special events
- Work collaboratively with staff members and volunteers to ensure successful program delivery
- Prepare, maintain, and manage program records and files
- Perform related duties as assigned
Some evening and weekend work is required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in recreation, physical education, or related field and minimal experience in recreation program planning and implementation, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- . 1-3 years Parks & Recreation work experience
- Must have a valid NC Driver’s License
- Excellent customer service skills
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willing to attain certification in first six months
- CPRP certification preferred
Salary & Benefits: Salary Range: $20.91 – $29.91 (depending on experience)
- Sign-On Bonus: $2,000, paid as a lump sum after successful completion of the probationary period
