What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer II position at City of Saint Paul?
The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department - Sewer Division is hiring a Civil Engineer II to perform intermediate-level professional engineering in the investigation, design, inspection, operation or construction of streets, alleys, sewers, bridges, and other Public Works projects.
Here's what you can expect to do:- Support street and sewer capital improvement projects by assisting in design computations, analyzing data, and conducting peer reviews of prepared plans
- Support private developments by reviewing prepared plans for conformance with City standards and requirements
- Support the City’s compliance with Watershed District and State-issued permits related to stormwater management
- Support various Sewer Utility responses to contractor/citizen inquires related to public drainage concerns, private sewer repairs, and current capital/maintenance projects
- Support administration of the Storm Sewer System Charge process and Special Discharge Permit process

This position is located at 27 4th St W, Saint Paul (City Hall Annex) working the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm with hybrid eligible after onboarding period and in conformance with City/Department policies.

A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Fundamentals of Engineering Certification and two years of experience as a Civil Engineer I or equivalent. No substitution for education.
