The Manager – Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) is responsible for bringing local, regional, national and international sporting events to the City, and for expanding the sports capital of Texas to become one of the premier destinations for world-class sports events and championships for the benefit of the regional and local economy. This position is also responsible for managing the CVB and Visitors Center.
Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples of Duties
- Oversees the CVB and Visitors Center operations to ensure efficiency, quality of service, and is also responsible for fiscal oversight.
- Solicits and secures sports-related events that generate hotel room nights and economic impact by engaging with governing bodies, event owners, and third-party organizers across local, regional, and national markets.
- Develops competitive event bids, negotiates contracts, and creates incentive packages in partnership with marketing staff and department leadership,
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of employees for compliance with established policies and objectives of the City and contributions in meeting all the stated measurable goals.
- Coordinates site tours for prospective clients and event organizers.
- Maintains accurate client records in the Customer Relationship Management software and tracks key performance metrics, including leads, proposals, confirmed events, room nights booked, and estimated economic impact.
- Oversees event services and coordination between event organizers, facility staff, hotels, and local partners.
- Maintains knowledge of Round Rock’s sports venues, attractions, and hospitality offerings.
- Oversees the management of local and regional business relationships to fill available advertising and sponsorship opportunities at the Round Rock Sports Center and Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with major coursework in Sport Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience in sales, development, or community outreach. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
