Under close supervision, the Lifeguard promotes a safe facility environment by enforcing rules and regulations. Identifies and resolves hazardous situations, prevents accidents and performs emergency services by rescue and response. The anticipated hours for this position are Sunday from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples of Duties
- Attends mandatory in-service trainings and performs all lifesaving skills as required.
- Exercises diligence in maintaining the safety of all members and guests. Effectively enforces all pool rules and regulations. Maintains order in the pool facility, foresees possible risk and takes necessary steps to prevent accidents.
- Constantly alert and ready to assist swimmers in trouble or involved in accidents in the water or on the deck. Performs with extreme prudence emergency service by rescuing, resuscitating or administering first aid as required.
- Cooperatively works with facility team to achieve successful and effective daily operations. Performs opening and closing duties as assigned. Assists in maintaining the pool, deck and entire facility in a safe and clean standard by performing tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Provides customer service in an effective, friendly and professional manner.
- Assists with recreation programming (classes, workshops and trainings) as assigned. Prepares lesson plans, course content, reports, method/delivery, materials, equipment and instructional aids.
- Performs other job-related tasks as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience required.
- Current Lifeguard Certification in American Red Cross lifeguard training, First Aid and CPR required. Other agency certifications will be considered.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver License, if required for assignment.
- Water Safety Instruction and Lifeguard Instruction certifications must be obtained within one (1) year of employment, if required for assignment.
- Must be 18 years or older.
