Description
Under general supervision, the Community Enhancement Technician position performs maintenance of the City’s right-of-way, and services gas powered equipment available to the public as part of the City’s Tool Depot program. Work performed involves regularly refueling and maintaining publicly used tools as well as performing both scheduled and unscheduled beautification activities in right-of-way areas around the city.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Examples of Duties
- Performs maintenance on the Department’s tools and vehicles, as well as replaces parts. Takes tools, vehicles and trailers to General Services Department for service.
- Picks up trash, litter, and brush. Transports collected trash and litter to a dumpster and brush to the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center.
- Maintains all Department equipment and completes minor repairs, including vehicles, to keep them safe and operational.
- Drives a City vehicle to monitor areas in need of maintenance within the City. Responds to instances of illegal dumping by collecting and disposing of litter ranging from small papers to bulk trash, such as tires and mattresses.
- Refuels tools in the Tool Depot program. Tests tools to ensure they are functioning properly and are safe for public use.
Experience and Training
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of experience in general labor/maintenance.
Certificates and Licenses Required
- Class C Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain prior to hire.
