What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warming House Attendant position at City Of Rosemount?
Position Summary
It is the primary responsibility of the Warming House Attendant to provide leadership, enforce rules, and implement safe recreation practices both on the rinks and in the warming house. Responsibilities also include the general activities and upkeep of the facility during regularly scheduled hours.
Essential Duties
- Enforces all warming house rules, regulations and policies to maintain a safe and orderly conduct.
- Responsible for opening and closing the warming house when scheduled.
- Provides assistance to patrons (i.e. lacing skates, answering questions).
- Acts responsibly and provides clear direction in emergency situations.
- Performs general maintenance such as shoveling or sweeping light snow off rinks and walkways and general cleaning of the warming house.
- Communicates effectively with the Recreation Supervisor and Maintenance Crew both verbally and in written reports.
- Reports acts of vandalism and/or equipment needing repair.
- Responds to complaints and directs appropriate corrective actions to the problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must possess a good attitude and good judgement when dealing with the public, participants, and facility management
- Ability to understand and follow written or oral instructions
- Previous experience involving contact with the public
- Ability to perform physical duties, as needed
- Sufficiently responsible to handle participant confrontations
- First Aid Training
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to establish and maintain tactful and effective working relationships with co-workers, program participants, and the general public

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, hand, feel, or operate objects; and reach out with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee can occasionally be required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

- Noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.
- The employee is frequently exposed to changes in temperature. The working environment includes indoor temperatures where there is heating and outdoor weather conditions of cold and snow.
- The employee will be scheduled during the late afternoon, evenings, and weekends.
