What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Chief position at City of Rolla?
The City of Rolla, MO (pop 20,423) is recruiting its next Police Chief to continue the City’s high level professional service to the Rolla community. The Police Chief serves as the leader of the sixty men and women providing service and is expected to lead with integrity, respect, fairness and accountability. The Chief will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of the 38-sworn officers as well as overseeing support operations such as Animal Control Division and Communications. The Chief will also work closely with the Missouri University of Science & Technology police department and will be a regional collaborator and leader.
Qualified applicants should possess at least five years of progressive supervisory experience with extensive knowledge of police principles and budgeting. A Bachelor’s Degree or FBI National Academy experience or equivalent is required and a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
