JOB SUMMARY :Provides technical support for the building inspection and permitting process. Assists customer’s inquiries, applications, and payment of permit fees. Assists with processing the city beer and wine and taxicab licenses, and schedules service order inspections to facilitate citizens getting their utilities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Promptly and courteously responds to phone calls, answering questions accurately, making appropriate referrals to inspectors, and relaying messages to staff.
- Accurately enters and maintains building permit data to ensure easy retrieval of information and enable valid reporting.
- Accurately record building permit data to facilitate inspections, payment collections, utility hook-ups, etc.
- Perform typing, filing, process mail, and other duties to support smooth office operations.
- Consistently follow cash management processes as outlined by the Cash Management Policy and Procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY: The work consists of related technical duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the work.
SCOPE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for the permitting process. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency of the permitting process.
