Essential Job Functions
Thomas Farm Community Center seeks dynamic and dependable people to fill this part-time front desk position. This position works year-round and takes on varying responsibilities throughout the facility including opening and closing the facility and checking to ensure safe and secure operational conditions.
Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Customer service duties consist of greeting and checking in patrons, engaging with customers by answering questions and giving accurate information both in-person and over the phone, managing reservations, and completing registrations including processing transactions through a point of sale system and cash handling. Attention to detail is a must.
Setting up and breaking down rentals and events is required including setting up and taking down chairs and tables. Some cleaning duties are also required.
This position monitors user groups in the gym, enforces rules and provides equipment as needed.
Some clerical work is also required and includes reading and understanding schedules, completing rental paperwork, and providing incident reports when necessary.
This position works approximately 15-20 hours per week which will include some evenings and weekends. Employee must exercise dependability.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Employee must have the ability to carry 50 pounds. Adult/Child CPR, AED and First Aid certification is required, and training will be provided, if necessary.
Experience:
Customer service experience and the ability to communicate efficiently along with basic knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office and internet-based platforms are required. Experience working with a group of 10 or more persons is preferred.
Education:
Must have completed high school and be at least 18 years of age. Some college is preferred.
