General Description
This is a seasonal position in the Department of Recreation & Human Services involving responsibility for overseeing the various activities at the City's ice skating rinks. Supervision is received from a higher level employee in the Department. Related work is performed as required.
Typical Work Activities
- Supervises and evaluates rink staff during open skate;
- Collects rental and league fees;
- Orders supplies and materials for rinks;
- Assists in planning special events;
- Maintains skates by cleaning and sharpening;
- Teaches staff basics of ice skating;
- Assists with building and grounds upkeep;
- Computes daily cash reports: register, closings, and bank deposits;
- Prepares attendance summaries and other reports as requested;
- Assists in the recruitment and interviewing of new staff;
- Reviews staff time cards;
- Acts as a liaison to Youth Hockey.
Minimum Qualifications
Two seasons of paid experience with the Department of Recreation & Human Services or similar operation.
