Performs manual work in the abatement process, operating assigned machinery and vehicles, cleaning properties and alleys, removing trash and other debris from properties and alleyways, boarding up vacant properties, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Chief Code Enforcement Officer.
- Clears out and weed eats in alleyways.
- Secures and boards up unsecured and vacant properties.
- Operates various hand tools, power equipment, machinery, and vehicles, including but not limited to: Boom trucks with clamps; push and riding mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, rakes, shovels, sprayers, blowers, pick-up truck, trailers, gators, etc.
- Cleans properties to bring up to code; collects and disposes of refuse in the assigned areas.
- Removes and disposes of various hazardous materials.
- Performs other labor duties as needed in city building.
- Uploads pictures of properties that have been cleaned.
- Maintains equipment and tools.
- Prepares for court appearances when needed.
