What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance Worker - Seasonal position at City of Reynoldsburg?
This is a seasonal position, under the supervision of the Parks Maintenance Superintendent. The position will perform a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks in the park, working during spring and summer.
- Mowing of parkland
- Using power equipment, trimming with weed eaters, and ability to drive trucks with trailers
- Litter control
- Work various community events
- Water/Maintain hanging baskets
- Taking care of ball fields
- Dragging and lining fields for game preparations
- Remove standing water if necessary
- Painting fair lines on the grass
- Working in flower beds
- Edging, planting, weeding, and watering plants
- Tilling, mulching
- Tree work
- Policing park grounds for litter
- Empty waste receptacles
- Inspect park facilities daily
- Perform basic janitorial services
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Landscape experience preferred
- Prior experience driving a truck and trailer preferred
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Must be 18 years of age or will turn 18 in early June of current year
- Some experience in general maintenance and construction work helpful
- Ability to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification
- Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and a good driving record
Ability to:
- Drive trucks with trailers
- Operate various power tools (weed trimmers, mowers, tractors, trucks)
- Obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Working Conditions:
- Weekend work required
- Work is performed inside/outside in all types of weather conditions (hot, humid, precipitation, etc)
