Responsibilities
Under direction of the Public Works Director, the Laborer/Equipment Operator performs a variety of work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of City facilities and systems. Laborer/Equipment Operator maintains equipment, machines, and trucks as necessary. This position works on projects including, but not limited to, street maintenance, water/sewer line repairs, meter reading, concrete work, and tree trimming. Other duties as assigned. This position is required to respond during emergencies and take on-call shifts as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency with minimum one (1) year of work-related experience in equipment operation, construction or related field are required.
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with clean driving record (CDL B preferred).
Must be able to obtain D Ground Water License upon employment.
Must be able to work in inclement weather.
Must be able to work safely independently and as part of a crew.
Must be available for after-hours call outs on rotating schedule.
Regular and timely attendance required for this position.
