Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
Gather critical information quickly and accurately from callers.
Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel using a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
Prioritize multiple incidents while maintaining situational awareness.
Monitor and coordinate radio communications with first responders.
Enter and retrieve information from state and national law enforcement databases.
Provide clear instructions and reassurance to callers during emergencies.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of all calls and dispatched incidents.
Work collaboratively with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and neighboring agencies to ensure effective emergency response.
The Communications Center operates 24/7/365 - including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Must be a United States citizen or authorized alien worker.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Work under pressure and be able to handle stressful situations.
Proficient in using computer software, multiple computer applications, and technology in a fast-paced environment.
If applicable, pass required testing.
