Job Summary: The Starter Shack Attendant helps manage golf course operations by scheduling tee times, processing payments, and assisting guests with course information. This role also involves maintaining the range area, enforcing course rules, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collects fees and sells merchandise using the Point of Sale (POS) system and balances the cash register at the end of each shift.
- Schedules tee times and communicates updates or changes to the tee sheet with on-duty staff.
- Greets guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Answers phone calls and responds to questions regarding golf course operations.
- Notifies guests when it is their turn to play and assists with the flow of play on the course.
- Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to patrons.
- Verifies legal drinking age by checking photo identification and refuses service to intoxicated or disruptive individuals when necessary.
- Monitors the course to enforce rules and identify unpaid play.
- Maintains the driving range area by collecting empty buckets, debris, and lost and found items.
- Stocks coolers and performs light facility upkeep in the starter shack, including managing laundry.
- Delivers range tokens to the clubhouse at the end of the evening. Reports issues, concerns, or incidents promptly to management.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be familiar with the game and rules of golf
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and varying day shifts
