Parks and Recreation Manager

This position serves as the Parks and Recreation Manager for the City of Randleman Parks and Recreation program. Currently, this position supervises one Recreation Coordinator along with seasonal and part-time staff. The manager reports directly to the Community Services Director and works collaboratively with the other departments including: Police, Fire, City Clerk, Planning, Library, Waste Water Treatment Plant, and Public Works. The Parks and Recreation Manager is responsible for being a working manager in the areas of recreational programming, marketing and promotions of recreational events, community engagement, and maintaining the recreational facilities including a community center and parks. The City of Randleman has approximately 90 FTEs with an Annual Operating Budget totaling $12,595,906 including the General Fund ($9,735,860) and Water and Sewer Fund ($2,860,046) For FY 2026.

The Parks and Recreation Manager is required to have an Associate’s Degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management or a related field. A candidate for this position may distinguish themselves with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management and hold certifications from the NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association). A candidate with at least five years of experience in local government parks and recreation is preferrable but not required. There is no residency requirement, however, this is not a hybrid or remote position. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills, work well as a collaborative part of the City of Randleman leadership team, and is detail oriented. This position will require a time commitment outside of the traditional 8AM -5PM schedule Monday-Friday due to the occurrence of recreational programs and events. The Parks and Recreation Manager shall serve as the staff liaison to a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
