The City of Raleigh is seeking a Temporary Transportation Maintenance Worker to join our Transportation department. Primary duties include assisting with CCTV, Pole Camera, and Culvert Inspections within the Stormwater Asset Management Inspections group. Manual use of various tools: ladders, rakes, shovels, tape measure, probing rod and CCTV camera equipment will be required. Performs related structure and pipe inspection work as required. May be assigned other street maintenance related duties as needed. This position is temporary but could lead to permanent employment if positions are available.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs unskilled or semi-skilled general maintenance- Selects proper maintenance tools and equipment for tasks
- Performs work following established safety policies and procedures and applicable codes and regulations
- May be required to work extended hours and/or weekends depending on volume of workload
- Assist the Asset Management group with inspections and related activities
- This position will be required to operate a City vehicle in order to perform certain street maintenance duties
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency and less than 1 year of experience performing manual work
Licensing and Certifications:
Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
