What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader - Active Adults position at City of Raleigh North Carolina?
As a Recreation Leader, you will be the face at one of the Active Adult centers, providing excellent customer service and an exceptional experience for all patrons Monday thru Friday. Our programs do gear toward age 50 and better. Often you will be the first point of contact for our patrons, processing transactions, and responding to questions about our facility and programs. Recreation Leaders assist the facility leadership in the overall management and operation of the facility and its programs, which can include after hour event rentals if you choose. Recreation Leaders are considered essential staff and can supervise the facility in the absence of a full-time staff member. Once hired, employees are provided with an extensive amount of training, including CPR/First Aid, Safety and overall departmental review.
Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods. Great patrons and answer the phone. Be familiar with the facilities and City of Raleigh programs. Responsible for program registrations in person and by phone. Proper collection and handling of fees in accordance with the City of Raleigh's cash handling policies and procedures. Maintain records using Excel, Word, RecTrac registration system and general filing. Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly facility, including setting up, moving, stacking, and arranging tables and chairs as needed. Prepare attendance reports and distribute evaluations to patrons. Supervise check in/check out procedures of programs. Provide feedback regarding program goals and objectives. Create activity schedules. Develop and distribute promotional and marketing information.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have excellent customer service skills, good general computer skills, and ability to quickly learn our registration software system. Candidates will preferably have experience working in a recreation or customer service setting and experience working with older adults. This position requires the ability to move and lift at least 30 lbs.

Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. No effective protection from weather, activities occur outside. The worker is subject to noise.
