Position Summary
The Lead PeopleSoft DBA will serve as the primary architect and administrator for the global PeopleSoft ecosystem. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and 24/7 support of mission-critical PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM, and Campus Solutions environments. You will lead large-scale upgrades (PeopleTools 8.6x), manage complex SQL Server or Oracle database architectures, and drive automation strategies for environment refreshes and PUM image deployments.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Architecture: Design and maintain multi-tier PeopleSoft architectures, ensuring seamless integration between Web Servers (WebLogic), Application Servers (Tuxedo), and Database Servers.
- Life-cycle Management: Lead end-to-end PeopleTools upgrades (v8.54 through v8.6x) and Application upgrades. Manage PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) cycles and Selective Adoption strategies.
- Database Administration: Expert-level administration of SQL Server (2019/2022) or Oracle (19c/21c). Perform advanced performance tuning, index optimization, and query analysis to support large-scale batch processing.
- System Integration: Manage and troubleshoot complex Integration Broker (IB) configurations, including REST/SOAP web services, secure messaging, and third-party API nodes.
- Automation & DevOps: Develop PowerShell, Shell, or Python scripts to automate routine tasks such as environment refreshes, cache clearing, and tax update applications (e.g., Tax Update 25C).
- Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous security patching (CPU/SPU), SSL certificate management, and data masking/encryption protocols to ensure compliance with SOC2 or HIPAA standards.
- Mentorship: Act as the final point of escalation for complex technical issues and mentor junior administrators in PeopleSoft-specific DBA best practices.
- PeopleSoft Expertise: Deep knowledge of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), Change Assistant, SES/Elasticsearch, and Stat (for version control).
- Database Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL Server or Oracle Database administration, including PL/SQL or T-SQL development and performance diagnostics.
- Cloud Operations: Experience managing PeopleSoft workloads on AWS (EC2/RDS) or OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is highly preferred.
- Platform Knowledge: Strong command of Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- System Uptime: Maintaining 99.9% availability for Production environments.
- Migration Accuracy: Zero-error Move-to-Production (MTP) execution for major upgrades.
- Performance Baseline: Reducing batch processing windows through proactive SQL tuning and indexing.
- Patch Compliance: Keeping all PeopleTools and Database versions within the "N-1" support window.
