What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Specialist: Inventory/Equipment Support position at City of Raleigh North Carolina?
This is a part time, seasonal, temporary position providing administrative inventory and equipment assistance in the day-to-day operation of Youth Programs during the summer camp season. This position is based out of the Youth Programs department in the Garris Building in Fred Fletcher Park.
- Assist staff in maintaining, organizing, sorting and cleaning camp equipment.
- Schedule camp site equipment delivery and pick up.
- Understand the daily operations of camp programs at camp site locations.
- Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods to parents, participants, and City of Raleigh personnel.
- Be familiar with camp program schedules and departmental operations.
- Communicate professionally with staff and public through phone and email
- Assist in administrative tasks related to camp programs.
- Deliver equipment to various camp sites as needed.
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have experience working in a customer service setting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and Google Forms
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
- High level of motivation, flexibility, self-direction and organization.
- Ability to address problems quickly and effectively based on policies and procedures.
- Ability to work as a team player and multi task duties from multiple supervisors.
- Experience in a recreation setting a plus.
- This position requires the ability to move around and be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Ability to obtain City Driving permit.
- Late May- Mid June Camp preparation/Training- 10-15 hours/week
- Mid-June- Mid August 20-40 hour per week
- Camp dates: June 16 – August 15, 2025 (except June 19th and July 4th)
