What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Cashier position at City of Raleigh North Carolina?
Responsible for assisting with the effective and safe daily operations of an admission-based swimming facility. Position will be responsible for POS register operation, following the City of Raleigh cash handling procedures, balancing daily revenues, assisting in answering the telephone, handling guest requests and comments, handling admissions, memberships sales, and program registrations through several computer applications. Cashier must be able to retain information about site amenities, fees, and directions to meet the needs and questions of park patrons and performs general duties as required. Position involves physical movement, working in an indoor and outdoor setting in all types of weather.
Cashier will be responsible for handling admission fees, memberships, and program registrations. Cashiers must exhibit excellent customer service to the public, be familiar with the facility and city programs, help maintain and clean the facility, move and set up equipment necessary for programs, enforce the rules and guidelines of the facility, handle paperwork properly, and attend all required City training courses.
Applicants for this position should be well-rounded, organized, self-starters. Must be enthusiastic about working with all populations, display personal maturity, have great communication and customer service skills, and have confidence in dealing with conflict resolution. Ability to speak, write, etc. in English fluently. Bilingual ability is helpful but not required. Reliable transportation is required. Work shifts fall within varying seasonal hours throughout the year, which requires applicants to work flexible hours. Facilities operate Monday to Sunday, includes Holidays. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Prior experience working in a recreation facility and/or setting is a plus.
Applicants will reflect the ability to effectively work as part of a team in a fast-paced active recreational setting. Applicants will demonstrate a concern for and awareness of all established safety protocols, for themselves, their colleagues and the public. Applicants must have the ability to be able to demonstrate skills in cash handling, computer applications; POS register operation, and complete basic math calculations for filling out deposits, timecards and other paperwork. Applicants must be able to follow written and verbal directions, work independently and as a team, and be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and written.

Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. Subject to extreme heat and high noise level.
