The City of Raleigh’s Information Technology Department is seeking an Enterprise Application Engineer to join our team of professionals supporting critical enterprise applications. This position plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the City’s current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform (Oracle Peoplesoft) and other enterprise applications, while helping to shape and implement the City’s next-generation ERP solution.
We are looking for someone who can bridge technology and business—someone who understands how enterprise applications enable organizational goals and can translate business needs into effective, sustainable technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting a modern ERP platform (such as SAP, Workday, Oracle Cloud, etc.), coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical acumen, and a collaborative mindset.

- Leads the configuration, design, and support of enterprise-level applications, including PeopleSoft and the City’s future ERP system
- Collaborates with business units to analyze processes, define requirements, and deliver scalable technology solutions
- Serves as a liaison between vendors, and City departments to ensure effective communication and solution delivery
- Manages projects and tasks related to application upgrades, integrations, and implementations
- Develops reports and data queries using enterprise reporting tools
- Troubleshoots complex system issues and implement corrective actions
- Supports training and knowledge transfer for end users and technical staff
- Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new enterprise applications and emerging technologies
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree, certifications or experience in Information Systems, Systems Administration, Network Administration, or related field; 3 to 5 years' experience in application configuration, database administration, software solutions, user support, or a related field

Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted

- Experience developing or supporting application interfaces and integrations within an ERP ecosystem
- Troubleshooting complex issues and applying analytical, critical thinking
- Clear, confident communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
