What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Inclusion Instructor position at City of Raleigh Municipal Government?
The Digital Inclusion Instructor will provide instruction for basic and specialized technology skills, primarily, but not limited to, adult students, at various locations throughout the city of Raleigh. The instructor will be teaching over 30 different technology courses with instructions lasting a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours. The candidate should be willing and able to learn new courses as they are developed. Promoting, growing, and surveying the programs will be paramount, ensuring we continue to offer and maintain the very best technology-based opportunities for our patrons to attend.

About You:
This position is ideal for those who are passionate about teaching technology programs and are flexible to instruct a wide range of courses; no two consecutive days will typically be the same. Should be flexible, and capable of attending and passing all required training courses, a comprehensive background check, and a controlled substance test. Must be dependable and able to drive themselves from location to location; typically, multiple locations in a single day. The ideal candidate should possess a positive, empathetic, and loving attitude that is patient and understanding.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist and lead with classroom instruction, both virtually and in person. Plus, provide support and guidance to students
- Maintain a supportive, safe, and clean classroom environment
- Identify the issues students are having and develop appropriate solutions as needed
- Drive to multiple locations in a single day
Typical Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements outlined in law or regulation. Former teacher experience preferred.
License and Certifications
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License preferred
- Ability to complete CPR/First Aid/AED training
