CITY OF RADFORD JOB OPENING
ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR
POSITION: FULL-TIME – EXEMPT
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible governmental accounting experience, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, experience with Tyler Munis accounting system is preferred.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Finance Director supports the Director of Finance/CFO in managing budgeting, accounting/auditing, financial reporting, grants management, accounts payable, fixed assets, and internal controls for the city. This role helps lead core financial operations and provides guidance to ensure transparency, compliance, and sound fiscal management. The successful candidate will possess critical thinking/analytical skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, financial reporting proficiency, and a commitment to ethical public service.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversees daily operations of the finance department
· Supervise and support staff in accounting and accounts payable
· Assist in development and monitoring of the annual budget
· Assist with the annual audit ensuring accuracy and adherence to GASB and GAAP standards
· Prepare/provide financial/grant information/reports
· Perform other related tasks as required.
Compensation and Benefits:
· Annual Salary Range: DOQ
